Whatever you think of Ron Paul, you have to admit that the media are notoriously biased against him. The Fox News Channel unfairly excluded him from its January 6 debate, while MSNBC and CNN tried to keep him from speaking for any significant length of time during their January 24 and January 30 debates. This is a candidate, we must recall, who placed second in the Republican Nevada caucuses on January 19, beating John McCain.

‘Al Franken’s Mental Disorder Given a Pass by Media?’

Comedian Al Franken is running for the U.S. Senate seat from Minnesota, this the media is happy to report. But, for some unexplainable reason, the media isn’t so interested in reporting Franken’s odd behavior. It seems that an ungovernable rage is always just under the surface with Franken, a rage that has several times broken free and resulted in assault and other violent or antisocial behavior. Why the media doesn’t highlight this man’s unstable behavior can only mean that they are lending him as much cover as they can to assist his campaign.

John Edwards, now a perennial also-ran in the presidential race, once opined about the direness of there being only a mere “two Americas” where he tried the typical class warfare tactic of pitting the poor and lower middle class against the upper middle class and the “rich”. The west’s current battle with radical Islam has revealed the worst in both the west and the world of Islam. Obviously from Islam we have seen the intolerance, hatred, oppression and evil in its nature. But, from the west we have seen revealed the hollowness of its soul and a complete lack of self-regard as so many western nations allow the evil of Islam to attack them from within as well as from without. The west has lost its spine to stand up for its own principles, in fact has thrown away all pretext that it even has principles worth preserving.

The word is being widely used, but don’t speak it about public education - A recent Gallup Poll reported that nearly 85 percent of Americans are happy with their lives. (I’d include myself in that group.) Yet if you watch the presidential campaigns, especially on the Democratic side, you’ll regularly hear how Americans are dispirited, financially strapped and desperate for a change. While change is often necessary and worth the effort, sometimes change is impossible to accomplish, even for a president.
