Con(gress) Air—Where the Tax Payers Get taken for a Ride
Guest:

Nancy Pelosi, in the run up to the 2006 midterms, decried the Republican Congress’ “culture of corruption” and triumphantly claimed she was going to bring back an “ethical” Congress upon the close of the elections. The Democrat Party delighted in the real ills of lobbyist Jack Abramoff and the fictional ills of the evil genius Karl Rove and spared no expense to tout their warnings to the electorate. Their efforts seemed to succeed in gaining them a majority. So, what are the reforms this new, glorious era has produced now that the Democrat Party has retaken Congress?   More...

Lettuce Consider Executive Orders
Malcolm Hedges

Executive Orders are little things that our President can issue that are unaccountable by the voters.   More...

Don’t Extend the “Hate Crime” Law--Abolish It

IRVINE, Ca.--Last week the House passed a measure that extends the federal “hate crime” law to include attacks motivated by the victims’ gender or sexual orientation.   More...

Government Health Care a Universal Failure
Guest:

Government provided health care not the answer to health care challenges - In a recent Arizona Republic column, state Representative Phil Lopes called for universal health care. But, the Lopes proposal confuses government paid health services with universal health care. As Europe demonstrates, millions regularly go without good health care under government paid systems.   More...

Christopher Hitchens: Atheist without a First Cause
Guest:

In the epic quest for an answer to the vitally important question of God’s existence, the determined and rather eloquent skeptic Christopher Hitchens has, in his latest book: God Is Not Great, finally come around to a very un-climactic answer; and it is in the negative.    More...

Judicial Watch Calls on Attorney General to Investigate Rep. John Conyers
Guest:

On April 25, I sent a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales calling for an investigation of Michigan Democratic Rep. John Conyers.  Judicial Watch recently obtained documentation from a former Conyers staffer that sheds new light on the activities and conduct on the part of the Michigan congressman which, as I wrote to the Attorney General, “appear to be at a minimum inappropriate and likely unlawful.” Our understanding is that the FBI was specifically investigating Conyers.  But it seems from the outside that the investigation has shut down.  I hope that it has nothing to do with the fact, that as the new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Conyers has oversight over Justice Department and FBI matters (and budgets).   More...

A Dilemma: Free Speech and Internet/Radio/TV Immorality
Guest:

Rosie O’Donnell is off the air, supposedly her own doing, and Don Imus is reported to be suing CBS. The outcome of any such litigation may tell if we have achieved a new era in broadcasting or if we will revert to the pervious era. Regardless of what Rosie says, I believe she did not reach an agreement with ABC because ABC did not want to reach an agreement. The absence of an agreement may have provided Rosie with her own dignity, if she had any, but it avoided a problem for ABC. If ABC had renewed her, especially under the circumstances of her slander of Donald Trump, there would have been howls of protest from that part of the viewing public which still has some morality. By simply not agreeing to a new contract, Rosie’s having claimed that ABC wanted her for three years and she only wanted one year, ABC showed the morality viewer that it cared. Probably no one except Rosie’s most devoted followers believed her story, even though technically it may have been true. Believe me, if ABC really wanted her for three years, ABC would have taken her for one year.   More...

The Way Ahead in Iraq
Guest:

Recently, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid bluntly stated that he believes the war in Iraq is lost. His party gained control of Congress last fall on the voter’s belief that a new approach toward the war was needed, but not simply to cut and run. Sen. Reid and his party have never been honest about their intentions regarding the war, but now they are in the open.   More...

Ignoring the Invasion
Guest:

GOP candidates and debate moderators look the other way - Perhaps it was because of the format, perhaps it was due to the number of candidates, but this past Thursday’s Republican “debate” wasn’t so much a debate as it was a sound bite circus.   More...

Chris Matthews Destroys Rudy Giuliani
Accuracy In Media:

Our campaign to force Fox News and the South Carolina Republican Party to open up their May 15 presidential debate to all 10 official and declared candidates was vindicated by what happened at the May 3 debate broadcast by MSNBC. Republicans got a chance to see a real exchange of views. Candidates like Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo, who might have been excluded from the May 15 Fox News debate under the channel’s original criteria, talked about issues most of the other candidates would prefer to ignore. And despite the sometimes overbearing presence of liberal moderator Chris Matthews, several questions asked by Matthews and John Harris of Politico.com delineated real differences among the candidates.   More...

Duke Rape Case: The Feminist Klan Exposed
Guest:

The deafening silence from Duke University in its failure to apologize to the Duke Lacrosse players, and its failure to change campus policy with respect to feminist harassment of men, has not gone unchallenged.  The watershed event at Duke has ignited long-overdue scrutiny of cultish women’s studies programs that have impressed hatred and sexism towards men at our Universities.   More...

Feeding the Mouth That Bites You
Guest:

The Republican Party never learns. Time and again, apparently on the theory that real conservatives just can’t win against liberal Democrats, party bosses seem compelled to support wishy-washy, moderate-to-liberal Republicans over solid conservatives in primary elections across the country.   More...

Lowe’s Goes Bi-Lingual - Lowe’s Habla Espanol
Guest:

I recently visited my local Lowe’s Home Improvement Store to pick up some lawn and garden supplies.  It should have been a routine errand to a familiar place.  I certainly didn’t expect this trip to be something to write home about (or write a column about).  But it was.   More...
